For com, net and info domains, we were in the position of a sub-registrar until September 2021 and used the services of Ascio Technologies for domain registration, renewals and restoration. Because we want to become the direct registrar for domains registered before this date as well, and not be administratively or financially dependent on an intermediary, we decided to address the situation by transferring them under our accreditation. Since we are an ICANN-accredited registrar, we have all the prerequisites for this.
In this article you will learn:
- Why we need your consent
- How to perform the transfer to WEDOS administration
- Frequently asked questions
Why we need your consent
Ascio Technologies did not allow us to perform a mass domain transfer/registration transfer, during which we would not need to ask the customer for any action. Therefore, we must handle the transfer domain by domain.
From the customer, who in this case is moving from one registrar (ASCIO intermediary) to another (WEDOS), we therefore need consent to the registrar change just like in a regular transfer. According to ICANN rules, there is no other, simpler way.
Transfer to WEDOS administration
Transfer to WEDOS administration consists of three steps:
- Granting consent – by this step you express your consent to the registrar change and enable further processing.
- Payment for the domain – as with any other com, net and info domain transfer, the process also includes extending the domain by 1 year and the associated payment.
- Confirmation of the transfer – with this optional step, you can speed up the transfer process.
You can find an overview of domains to be migrated and detailed information about their status in the customer administration at this link ⧉.
Step 1 – Granting consent
We sent each customer who has a com, net or info domain registered with WEDOS through an intermediary an e-mail with additional information and a list of affected domains. Each such e-mail also contains a special link directly to the consent page for the transfer.
- Sender of the e-mail – wedos@wedos.com
- Subject of the e-mail – Transfer your domains to our WEDOS registrar account and save money / Transfer your domains to the WEDOS registrar and save your money.
After clicking the link https://client.wedos.com/domain-migration-confirm/(individual-code) in the e-mail, check the details of all domains in the overview.
Grant consent by clicking the I agree with the migration of the above domains to WEDOS. button.

Without granting consent, the domain cannot be transferred and you cannot proceed to the second step.
Step 2 – Payment for the domain
The migration of the domain in this way is subject to a one-year fee – at the same time as the registrar change, you extend the domain by 1 year from the current expiration date. No other changes take place.
Make the domain payment using the following steps:
After the payment is made, the system will start the domain transfer. You can track the payment status in the overview.

Step 3 – Confirmation of the transfer
After granting consent and paying the fee, you will receive a message from Ascio Technologies about the registrar change at the domain owner's e-mail address.
Without confirmation, the transfer will take place within 5 days; confirming it can speed it up.
Frequently asked questions
What if I do not grant consent?
In that case, starting from the next period, expect a price increase according to the Ascio registrar. We recommend granting consent for the domain transfer – the only difference between the Ascio and WEDOS registrars is the price.
The e-mail for granting consent to the migration is not arriving, what should I do?
Try having it sent from another browser, wait a few minutes, check the SPAM folder. If you cannot find the e-mail, contact customer support via the form ⧉. Provide the e-mail address to which you cannot get the message delivered.
Will anything else change for me?
Only and solely this changes: after granting consent and with the next domain renewal, WEDOS becomes the registrar. This is only an administrative action resulting from ICANN conditions.
Will the owner details remain hidden even after the transfer to WEDOS?
Yes, they will remain hidden.
