Electronic domain ownership certificate
An electronic domain ownership certificate is a PDF document that, with a recognized electronic signature by VEDOS, confirms domain ownership to a certain date of issue. It can be used for official matters requiring such confirmation. As long as the additional service is active, you can issue it at any time with the current date.
Activation of the electronic certificate
You can activate the electronic certificate in two ways:
Activation in the order of a new domain
If you are ordering a new domain, you can activate the extension Electronic domain ownership certificate already in step 1 of the order by checking the corresponding item.

Activation of the additional service
For an existing domain, activate the additional service using these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Domains.
- From the list, select the domain for which you want to activate the certificate.
- In the left menu, select Additional services.
- Next to Electronic domain ownership certificate, click the + button.

On the following page, choose the option and confirm with the Activate button.
Within 1 business day after activating the additional service, the system will issue and send an invoice for the remaining period of the service. From the next period onward, it will issue the invoice for the extension together with the original service.
Download or sending of the electronic certificate
You can generate and download the current certificate using these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Domains.
- From the list, select the domain for which you want to generate the certificate.
- In the detail, click VEDOS Certificates in the left menu.
- Use the corresponding button in the Domain digital certificate box to download the document, or send it to the entered e-mail address.

Ordering a physical certificate
A physical certificate of ownership certifies domain ownership as of the date (and time) of the order. It is printed on security paper and can serve as an official document as well as decoration. For an existing domain, order it using these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Domains.
- In the table, select the domain for which you want to issue the certificate.
- In the left menu, select WEDOS Certificates.
- Fill in the order form and confirm with the submit order button.

The usual processing time for the order is up to 1 month from the time it is placed.
New domain
If you want to generate a physical domain ownership certificate for a domain you are currently creating, check the corresponding option in the first step of the domain order form ⧉. We will send the certificate to the domain owner address.
If you need to order the certificate to a different address, generate it according to the instructions above only after completing the domain order.
If you need to change the delivery address after submitting the order, contact customer support as soon as possible via the form ⧉. State the domain name and request a change of the address for sending the certificate.
Frequently asked questions
Do you also allow a one-time download and payment of the certificate?
Unfortunately, we currently offer the electronic certificate only as a continuously functioning additional service, through which you can generate the certificate any number of times, always for the current date and time. If you want to issue the certificate only once, you can order the physical one.
Can I order a certificate even for a domain that I do not have in my customer account?
We do not offer this option yet.
I changed my mind about ordering a physical certificate. How can I cancel it?
Contact customer support as soon as possible via the form ⧉. State the domain name and request cancellation of the certificate order.
Do I have to order the electronic certificate together with the physical one?
No, these certificates are independent of each other.
How does this physical certificate differ from printing the PDF electronic certificate myself?
This certificate differs by being printed on security paper, contains the original WEDOS stamp, the handwritten signature of the owner of WEDOS a.s., and a registered number with no possibility of repeating the series.
If I order a physical certificate, does that mean the domain is mine forever?
No, the certificate confirms domain ownership to a certain date. It serves as a document for authorities, a collector's item, or decoration. It has no effect on the domain expiration.
