We do not recommend hosting websites with adult content on shared Webhosting due to their typical performance demands. Choose a service with dedicated performance such as WMS ⧉, VPS ⧉, Cloud ⧉, or Dedicated server ⧉.

Website with adult content
For the purpose of this guide, we consider any publicly accessible website containing any erotic or pornographic material to be a website with adult content.
This normally includes:
- websites sharing third-party content in the form of video, photos, or other media,
- public and private discussion forums,
- platforms for sharing users' or visitors' own content.
The issue here is not the content itself, but the usual traffic spikes, when the number of accesses commonly rises into hundreds of thousands within a few minutes. Websites with pornographic content are often visited through public identity-hiding services (TOR, VPN). Many of these services are heavily abused for attacks, and therefore our protections often block them.
If attackers and malicious bots are burdening your website, consider deploying WEDOS Protection ⧉.
Services for hosting websites with adult content
We do not recommend hosting websites with adult content on shared Webhosting because of regular performance spikes. These spikes threaten our infrastructure, so problematic web hosting must be limited during peak times, or shut down altogether.
Choose a service with dedicated performance such as:
- WMS ⧉ – a virtual server with dedicated performance and Webhosting management;
- VPS ⧉ – a virtual server with freely configurable performance;
- Cloud ⧉ – space for creating any number of VPS instances; or
- Dedicated server ⧉.
Not every website with adult themes or adult content needs dedicated hardware. On shared Webhosting, you can usually run:
- e-shops with adult goods,
- personal and company presentations.
Always place videos outside Webhosting.
Content troubleshooting
The default document for resolving content issues is the VEDOS Terms and Conditions ⧉, especially the General Terms and Conditions – Exclusion from Operation section.
We always proceed according to the valid laws of the Czech Republic, and we forward any complaints further.
- We forward complaints about your content to you. We do not disclose contact details to the complainant; the message is forwarded by customer support. Further action is up to you.
- In the case of an obvious violation of the law, we must of course act immediately. These cases concern clearly unlawful content and internet fraud.
- In the event of a request from the police or authorities, we always proceed according to the valid laws.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have any problem with adult content?
As long as the website operation does not violate the law and does not threaten our services or infrastructure, we have no problem with it.
I sent a complaint about harmful content, but nobody is responding. What should I do?
On our side, we intervene only in exceptional cases requiring immediate action. We forward other complaints about content to the service operator and act only at the request of the police or authorities.
