Development and support for the WebSite 1.0 service have been discontinued by the provider.
We are replacing the service with Website SODEW ⧉. Services created earlier will remain accessible in the original editor, and support will continue to be available for paid versions. We are currently working on the migration to the new solution.
In this article, you will learn about:
- Basic information about the WebSite 1.0 service
- Change of plan
- Project settings
- Controls
- Common problems
- Frequently asked questions
Basic information
The WebSite 1.0 service is a simple block website editor that allows you to create static web pages without coding knowledge.
The advantages of the WebSite 1.0 service include:
- Basic version (for example for testing) free of charge.
- A wide selection of pre-prepared templates and blocks.
- Intuitive visual design for mobile phones, tablets and PCs in one interface.
- The option to insert your own code (paid versions only, on request from support).
The disadvantages are:
- Development and support by the provider have ended. Elements or their combinations may contain errors that are time-consuming for us to resolve.
- Display of static content only – websites do not support, for example, article comments, adding products to a cart, etc.
- Contact forms do not support adding or deleting fields.
- The need for frequent manual interventions – for example, page section names, manual updates of links, etc.
WebSite 1.0 plans
The WebSite 1.0 service supports three plans – Free, Profi and Premium.
To upgrade the plan, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Hosting services WebSite.
- In the left menu, select Change variant.
- Click the Select button for the chosen plan.
- Confirm the choice with the Change variant button.

The plan change takes at most half an hour. After that time, log in to the WebSite service administration ⧉ and republish the website.
The service plan cannot be downgraded for technical reasons!
Project settings
In this chapter, you will find instructions on:
Logging in to the editor
To log in to the editor, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Hosting services WebSite.
- In the service detail, click the Log in button in the WebSite management interface section.
- In the WebSite interface, click the green button with the pencil icon.

Project and page settings
Using project settings, you can mainly insert the page favicon, custom CSS (for example fonts), and third-party code (most often Google Analytics and similar).
To open the project settings (for all pages at once) or an individual page from the open editor, follow these steps:
- In the upper right corner of the editor, click the icon with three vertical dots.
- Select Project settings or Page settings.
- Fill in the required settings.
- Click the Save settings button.
Saving and publishing the website
In preview mode, the website does not support links to other pages of the project. You can therefore verify link functionality only on the published website.
We recommend saving the website regularly with the Save now (!) button in the top bar. However, the settings will not be reflected on the website until you publish it using the following procedure:
- On the right side of the top bar, click the Publish website button.
- From the list, select which pages you want to publish.
- Click the Publish now button.
If you want to preview the page before publishing, click the Preview button.

Controls
The editor controls include:
- Left menu: Using this element, you insert the basic elements into the website, which are:
- Templates: A template is practically a complete page that you can edit freely.
- Blocks: A block is a pre-prepared content section, for example a navigation bar or gallery. You can place them anywhere in the template, or assemble an entire custom page from them.
- Components: Components are small parts of pages, for example headings, buttons, or individual images. You place them into existing blocks.
- Pages: Paid WebSite variants can consist of multiple pages.
- Detailed editor: Each element has at least one detailed editor panel, which you open by clicking the blue gear button of the component. Here you can set the appearance of elements, link targets, etc.

Common problems
Problems that require intervention by customer support are handled only for paid WebSite versions, unless stated otherwise.
Common problems with WebSite 1.0 include:
- The editor or resulting website does not work
- Previews of saved blocks do not work
- Links do not work in preview
- Outdated website
- Missing background images
- Overfilled gallery
- Ads displayed after upgrading the plan from Free
- WEDOS favicon in search results
- Non-functional form
The editor or website does not work properly
Problem: Content disappears from blocks, changes are not saved, only a white page is displayed instead of the website, or Error 503: Service temporarily unavailable.
Cause: Ad-blocking software or another browser plugin is interfering with the editor.
Solution: Disable ad-blocking software or the corresponding function of antivirus programs at least within the editor.
Restore damaged blocks from history, or delete them and create them again. We cannot restore them on our side.
Previews of saved blocks do not work
Problem: After saving a block, we cannot find it; the preview image is missing.
Solution: You can find saved blocks in the Blocks > Saved blocks menu. They are saved chronologically, so the last added block is at the very end. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to solve the problem of preview images not displaying.
Links do not work in preview
Problem: I have several pages created in WebSite. Whenever I click a link to another page, Error 404 is displayed.
Cause: In preview mode, links to other pages of the same project do not work.
Solution: Publish the website and verify the functionality of the links there.
The website displays old content
Problem: After an update, the old website content is displayed on the page.
Cause: Most often the updated page was renamed, but the navigation still points to the original file.
Solution: Check that the name of the updated page exactly matches the name in the browser address. For example, if you renamed the page galerie.html to Galerie.html, make sure you are opening Galerie.html.
Update all links manually to the new page name – the editor does not fix links automatically.
Background images are not displayed
Problem: Background images load only in the editor, but not in preview or on the website.
Cause: The images do not have a correct address entered.
Solution: Open the image detailed editor and add the img subdomain to the address in the Background image field.

Overfilled gallery
Problem: No more images can be uploaded to the gallery, even though the old ones have been deleted.
Cause: The system was unable to delete the images from the server.
Solution: Send an authorized request to clear the gallery. We handle these requests even within WebSite Free. The usual processing time is up to 1 week.
Ads in the paid version
Problem: After upgrading from Free to a paid version, ads are still displayed.
Solution: Republish the website in the Website editor. Then use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+R in the browser to load the updated content directly from the server.
WEDOS favicon in search
Problem: After uploading a new favicon, the WEDOS logo is still displayed in search results.
Cause: Search engines prefer the default favicon.ico file over the favicon set directly on the page.
Solution: Send an authorized support request and ask for your favicon to be renamed on the server. The usual processing time is within several working days.
Form does not work
Problem: Emails are not being sent from the contact form.
Cause: The form is damaged, or the target email settings have not been entered correctly.
Solution: First log in to the WebSite service interface, but not all the way into the editor. In the upper right corner, click Hello, wXXXX and select My account from the drop-down menu. Fill in the email field here (you can change it or keep it the same) and save.
If that does not help, delete the form and insert a new one.
Avoid editing the form fields, especially copying and deleting them.
Frequently asked questions
How can I try WebSite if I already have Webhosting service for the domain and cannot order WebSite?
Set up the service on a subdomain, for example test.vasedomena.tld.
How do I move from WebSite to Webhosting, or vice versa?
To move from WebSite to Webhosting, follow the guide for moving between these services. We have already ended support for moving in the opposite direction.
Why do you still offer the WebSite service when you are no longer developing it?
We keep WebSite 1.0 in the offer until the development of version 2.0, built on the popular content management system WordPress, is finished.
Will I be able to transfer a website from WebSite 1.0 to 2.0?
The services are based on very different systems, so we will not offer a transfer between them in the foreseeable future.
