Getting Started - Emails

This article is simplified for beginners. Complete information about how emails work, including solutions to common problems, can be found in the Emails category.



New email mailbox

The instructions assume that you have the Webhosting ⧉ or Mailhosting ⧉ service set up.

Log in to the customer administration and open the mailbox creation link:

Select from the list the service on which you want to create a new email mailbox.

Fill in the following details in the form:

  • Mailbox name: The text before the @ sign, e.g. info or billing.
  • Password: A secure password containing lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. If the password meets all requirements, you will see the message password is valid.
  • Confirm: Enter the password again to reduce the chance of a typo.

Click the Create mailbox button.

The system usually creates the mailbox within a few minutes.


WebMail email client

You can also manage emails through your own email clients on your computer and phone. More information can be found in the advanced article WebMail – Manual.

Open the link webmail.wedos.net ⧉.

Enter the following login details:

  • User: The full name of the email mailbox you are logging into, e.g. info@vedos.cz.
  • Password: The current mailbox password. If it does not work, go to the instructions Change mailbox password.

In the WebMail interface, you can:

  • Receive and write messages
  • Set selected mailbox properties
  • Automate mail sorting using filters

Changing the mailbox password

Changing the mailbox password in the system may take up to 15 minutes.

Open the link for managing the service mailboxes:

Select from the list the service containing the mailbox whose password you want to change.

In the mailbox list, open the details of the specific mailbox whose password you want to change.

In the mailbox details, fill in the Password field so that it contains lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. If the password meets all conditions, you will see the message password is valid.

Enter the same password into the Confirm field as well.

Click the Save changes button.

The mailbox password change will take effect within 15 minutes.


Increasing email space

Increasing email space will take effect within 30 minutes after activation.

Open the link for managing the service add-on:

Select from the list the service whose email mailbox space you want to increase.

In the management interface for the email space increase add-on 5 GB, select the number of activations (each activation increases the total mailbox capacity by 5 GB).

Confirm the selection with the Activate button.
