In this guide you will find a description of the tests for the EWM add-on service. Instructions for activation and access to the interface can be found in the article EWM – Activation and basic control.
In this article you will learn how the tests work:
Domain
The domain test is available in the Professional and High Availability variants. It alerts you in advance to an upcoming domain expiration. An expired domain usually means unexpected suspension of the website and e-mails, and after the grace period there is also a risk of complete loss of your domain.

HTTP
The HTTP test is available in all variants. It detects whether your website is working or not and can alert you to an unusual situation. It uses HTTP status codes for this. The usual 200 OK response means that the website is functioning. If EWM detects a different response (404 Not Found, 403 Access Denied, 301/302 Redirect, etc.), it sends an alert.
An unexpected response most often occurs when the website is damaged, content is deleted, there is a configuration error, or it has been compromised. The website may then remain non-functional for many days or display чужý content before you notice it yourself.

DNS servers
The DNS server test is available in all variants. In the event of incorrect settings or a DNS outage, some users may have problems connecting to the website or delivering e-mail. Monitoring can alert you to this in time.

DNSSEC
The DNSSEC test is available in the Professional and High Availability variants. DNSSEC is used to verify that no one is attempting to spoof DNS records along the way. In such an attack, a visitor may be redirected to a fake website and provide their personal or payment details to attackers. Monitoring can track its correct configuration and alert you to a possible need for checking.

MX servers
The MX server test is available in the Professional and High Availability variants. MX servers are used for delivering e-mails. If they are unavailable, your e-mails will stop arriving. Monitoring can detect a problem with the mail server in time and alert you to it.

SMTP
The SMTP test is available in all variants. The SMTP server is used for sending your mail. If it is unavailable, you will not be able to send any e-mail, and automatic e-mails from the website (registration, orders, etc.) may not be delivered either. Monitoring can alert you to SMTP problems in time.

POP3 / IMAP
POP3 and IMAP tests are available in all variants. POP3 and IMAP servers are used to connect a mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Mail, etc.). In the event of problems with the POP3 / IMAP server, you will not be able to log in to your e-mail mailbox and you will see a connection error in your e-mail clients. Monitoring can alert you to the problem in time.

FTP
The FTP test is available in the Professional and High Availability variants. The FTP server is used to store website data. You will use it especially when uploading website pages to Webhosting and when managing files on the website. Unavailable FTP makes this impossible. Monitoring can alert you to this in time.

SSH / SFTP
SSH and SFTP tests are available in the Professional and High Availability variants. They verify the availability of the SSH / SFTP server. Login credentials can also be entered, in which case the ability to log in is also verified.

SPF
The SPF test is available in the High Availability variant. SPF record can be used to configure the servers from which you can send mail. Only such servers will pass the recipient’s anti-spam check. The test verifies whether the record is set correctly and displays its content.
