Choosing the type of reset

If you do not know which type of reset to choose, try them in this order and then verify whether the reset solved your problem.

  • Reboot (hard) is equivalent to restarting the operating system, so there is no physical power-off. Reboot first terminates running processes, while reboot (hard) resets the system immediately. It is suitable for solving some software problems within the OS.
  • Poweroff (hard) is equivalent to physically turning off a computer; Poweroff first terminates running processes, while Poweroff Hard turns off the VM immediately. It preserves the allocation of system resources, so the system starts up again quickly. It is suitable for solving some software problems within the OS that Reboot does not solve, and when upgrading the VPS ON variant.
  • Undeploy (hard) in addition to physically turning off like Poweroff, it releases allocated system resources. Restarting takes longer than from the Poweroff state. It is suitable for solving some virtual hardware problems.

Performing Undeploy may damage the filesystem or cause data loss.
