Renaming Hosting WP
You use the Renaming tool when you want to change the domain under which Hosting WP is listed. The main reasons for renaming include:
- Releasing the service name: If you want to create a new service under the name of an existing Hosting WP (for example Webhosting or Mailhosting), you must rename the original service and thereby free up the name. In our system, the occurrence of two or more identical service names is prohibited except for special cases.
- Changing the domain of an existing website: If you are changing the domain of an existing website, rename Hosting WP. The system will automatically change the WordPress domain in your internal records as well.
Renaming procedure
To successfully rename the service, you must first meet the conditions, and then perform the service renaming itself in the customer administration.
When renaming a webhosting service, observe the following conditions:
- The new Hosting WP name must be a valid 2nd- or 3rd-level domain (domain.tld or sub.domain.tld).
- The new name must not be the name or alias of Webhosting, WebSite, or Mailhosting.
- If we are the registrar of the domain that is the new name of the Webhosting, this domain must be in the same customer account as the Webhosting, or it must be an authorized account for this domain.
- Hosting WP must not be expired.
To rename the service itself, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the main menu, click the Hosting Services tab Hosting WP.
- In the list of services, select the one you want to rename.
- In the left menu, choose the Tools link.
- In the Renaming section, enter the new domain of the service and choose whether you want to automatically set the domain in WEDOS DNS for the website, emails, or both.
- Confirm the choices by clicking the Rename button.
After renaming:
- Follow the system messages, which will tell you whether the renaming is in progress and whether any further steps are required.
- Wait for the configuration change on the web server (it may take up to 30 minutes) and possibly the DNS configuration change (it may take up to one hour). During this time, the website may be unavailable.
Renaming Hosting WP changes the login names for email mailboxes. Update the login credentials in your email clients.

How do I set up Mailhosting under the same domain for LowCost WP service?
We recommend upgrading the hosting plan to NoLimit WP, which also includes email services. If you insist on the LowCost WP and Mailhosting combination, you can use a system exception and set up both services under one domain. In this specific case, renaming is not necessary.
