This article deals with creating a new domain contact. Its transfer, or transfer to another customer account, is covered in the guide Domains – Contact Transfer. Instructions for changing contact details can be found in the article Domains – Contact Edit.
In this article, you will learn:
Determining the Domain Registry
Each domain contact is tied to a specific registry. For example, the CZ.NIC ⧉ registry manages domain contacts usable for domains with the CZ extension. Contacts can therefore be used only within the given registry – if you want to create a new domain with another registry, you must also create a new contact.
If you want to find out which registry the domain, and thus its contact, belongs to, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select the Domains tab.
- Select the domain whose registry you want to determine.
- In the Information table, find the TLD row.

Creating a New Contact
If you need to create a new contact, proceed as follows:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select the Domains tab.
- In the left menu, expand TLD Tools, where TLD is the specific domain extension or registry.
- Select Create Contact.
- Carefully fill in the form and confirm it with the Submit button.

Pay special attention to correctly filling in the email address. Authorization passwords for further domain modifications are sent to this email.
After creation, the contact will appear in the Contact List of the given extension or registry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I choose my own contact name?
Some registries allow a custom contact name, others do not. If the administration does not offer the option to enter a name, the given registry does not support custom names.
What if I already have a domain contact, but it is with another registrar?
In the case of a CZ domain, you can transfer it to us according to these instructions. For other domain extensions, create a new contact.
