Preparing the VPS for installation
You can have the operating system installed on VPS SSD already during the order process. If you chose to order without an operating system, or if you want to reinstall the existing system, perform the following preparation:
- Back up the data and configuration you want to keep. During reinstallation, the system formats the virtual disks, so you will lose all data on the entire server. Reinstallation also deletes all existing snapshots.
- Pay attention to your operating system selection. You can perform a reinstallation at most once per hour.
Performing the reinstallation
Reinstalling a preinstalled OS from the customer administration usually takes 5 – 15 minutes.
Reinstalling the system will cause you to lose all data, including saved snapshots.
Perform the reinstallation in these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Server Services VPS SSD.
- Select the VPS you want to reinstall from the list.
- In the left menu, select Reinstallation.
- Select the operating system and confirm with the Start Reinstallation button.

After the reinstallation is complete, the system will generate and send a new service setup email with the current login details. This message is sent to the service billing email.
