Creating a new email mailbox
Create a new email mailbox using the following procedure:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Hosting Services Mailhosting, Webhosting, WMS or WebSite.
- Select the service for which you want to create the mailbox.
- In the left menu, select New email mailbox.
- Fill in the settings.
- Click the Create mailbox button at the top of the page.

Bulk mailbox creation
You can also create mailboxes in bulk through the Bulk mailbox creation interface. Proceed as with creating a new email mailbox, but instead of New email mailbox select Bulk mailbox creation in the left menu.

Then continue with these steps:
- In the text field, enter one new mailbox per line in the format:
mailbox name (without domain suffix);password
- Confirm the mailbox creation with the Send button.

Mailbox settings modification
If you need to change the mailbox password, follow the instructions in Emails – Password change.
In the customer administration, you can edit mailbox settings or delete them:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Hosting Services Webhosting, WMS, WebSite or Mailhosting.
- Select the service for which you want to manage the mailbox.
- In the left menu, select Email mailboxes.
- For the mailbox you want to manage, click the magnifying glass icon for settings, or the cross icon for deletion.

You can also find mailbox sizes and the number of sent emails per day in this overview.
In the mailbox detail, you can make the following settings:
- New mailbox, or Mailbox address@domain.tld: When creating a new mailbox, fill in its name here. You can also fill in aliases so that the mailbox works for multiple email addresses at once.
- Password: Enter or generate a secure password for the mailbox by clicking the key icon.
When editing a mailbox, fill in the password and its confirmation only if you want to change it.
- Forwarding: All messages arriving in this mailbox can be forwarded to another email. Forwarded messages can be automatically deleted from the mailbox after forwarding by checking the relevant option.
- Permissions: In this section you can allow (check) or deny (uncheck) user login, sending, and delivery of emails to the mailbox. You can also set the maximum mailbox size and the email sending limit (it cannot be increased beyond the limits set by the webhosting settings).
- Additional settings: Here you can set whether to filter SPAM into a separate folder and whether emails from other account addresses can be sent through this mailbox.
Sending from any address within the service means that after logging in to this mailbox you can send mail even from other mailboxes within this webhosting, including those that do not exist. Set such a mailbox as an identity.
Common problems
Common problems when managing mailboxes include:
- Cannot log in to the new mailbox
- Mail is not arriving in the new mailbox
- The service has no mailboxes
Non-functional login to the new mailbox
Problem: We created a new mailbox and cannot log in to it, not even via WebMail ⧉.
Cause: Creating a new mailbox on the mail server can take up to half an hour.
Solution: Wait at least half an hour for the mailbox to be created on the server. If login problems persist, try changing the password.
Mail is not arriving in the new mailbox
Problem: We created email mailboxes on the new hosting, but mail is not arriving.
Cause: The most common cause of mail delivery failure is incorrect or missing MX-type DNS records.
Solution: Check whether the DNS MX records are pointed to WEDOS.
The service has no email mailboxes
Problem: I do not have any options for creating and managing mailboxes for my service.
Cause: The WebSite Free variant does not include email.
Solution: If you want to use email with this service, choose a higher service variant, or order a separate Mailhosting ⧉.
