Internal URL
The Hosting WP service is set up by default on an internal address in the format vwh1234.789.vedos.website, for the following reasons:
- Content creation outside the live domain. We recommend switching to the production domain only after completing the creation of the new website, or after migration of the original one. This helps you avoid, for example, publishing maintenance messages, or indexing test content.
- Fast provisioning. Because DNS and SSL certificates on hosting take a relatively long time to propagate, provisioning on the main domain is often time-consuming and the sent links may not work correctly right away. We create internal addresses in advance, so the new service is ready to use immediately after provisioning.
You can find the internal address of your service in:
- The service setup e-mail
- The service detail in the customer administration

You can switch to the public domain or back to the internal address at any time according to the procedure described in the chapter Switching to the service domain.
Switching to the service domain
Before switching from the internal address to the service domain, make sure that:
- The domain DNS records point to the Hosting WP service and at least 30 – 60 minutes have passed since they were set.
- The new or migrated website is ready for use. Pay special attention to third-party API functionality, especially payment gateways.
Then proceed with these steps:
- Log in to your WordPress administration.
- In the left menu, select Settings General.
- For Website URL (Hosting), choose Public domain.
- Click the Switch URL button.

Frequently asked questions
Why do some service addresses in the customer administration not work?
At any given moment, WordPress may only function on one domain. If it works on the internal address, it cannot work on the public domain, and vice versa. The service setup e-mail primarily uses the internal address. The customer administration then assumes that you will usually access the website there via the public domain.
Why can I switch only between the internal URL and the Hosting WP service domain?
The service is not compatible with any other domain (or subdomain). If you want to change the Hosting WP service domain, rename it according to this guide.
