If the authorization password is correct, the system will transfer the domain immediately.

Transferring a domain using the authorization password will change it. If you perform any further actions requiring the authorization password, generate it again, for example according to the instructions in Domains – Sending the authorization password.

Common problems

Common problems with transferring domains using an authorization password include:

The domain cannot be transferred to the account

Problem: The error message This domain cannot be transferred to your account is displayed.

Cause: The domain is registered with another provider.

Solution: Transfer the domain.

The authorization password does not arrive

Problem: The authorization password for the domain does not arrive.

Solution: Check the SPAM folder. If you still do not find the email with the authorization password there, try having it sent from another browser.

If you are not sure about the domain owner’s email (the owner’s email may differ from the billing email), contact customer support via the form ⧉ and ask for help with the domain owner’s email. Provide the domain name and the owner’s name.

Invoice for the transferred domain unavailable

Problem: The domain is just before expiration, but after the transfer I still do not have access to the issued invoice.

Cause: Domain transfer does not apply to invoices created in the system before the customer account was changed.

Solution: If the system has already issued an invoice for the domain (usually 30 days before expiration), change the billing details according to the instructions in Services – Billing details. The system will cancel the previous invoice and issue a new one in your account with the current details.

DNS transfer failure

Problem: After transferring the domain to my customer account, I still do not have access to its DNS.

Cause: Domain transfer usually works for the domain and its DNS. DNS transfer may fail if they are in a different customer account than the domain.

Solution: Ask support to transfer the DNS to the same customer account via the form ⧉ sent from the destination account containing the domain.

Domain handover

Problem: I want to hand the domain over from my account, not transfer it into it.

Solution: Follow the instructions in Services – Hand over to the new owner.
