  1. Log in to the client administration ⧉.
  2. In the top menu, select Hosting services and MailhostingWebhostingWMS or WebSite.
  3. Select the service for which you want to set up email.

In this section, you set:

Domain catch-all

The domain catch-all is a mailbox to which the server forwards emails addressed to non-existent mailboxes. It can catch emails with typos in the address, but unfortunately this also makes it an easy target for SPAM.

In the basic setup, the domain catch-all is turned off – emails for an unknown recipient are rejected by the mailserver. To enable the domain catch-all:

  1. In the Emails for unknown recipient menu, select Forward to address (domain catch-all).
  2. In the Domain catch-all menu, select the mailbox to which the server will forward these emails. If you do not yet have any mailbox, create one according to the instructions in the article Emails – Mailboxes.

Permissions

In this setting, you can globally allow or disable users from logging in to mailboxes, sending, and delivering mail.

Limits

Here you set notifications about running out of space on the mailserver. You can turn off the warning, send it to all mailboxes, or only to a selected mailbox, for example an administrator.

If the limit is set directly on the mailbox, the system sends the warning to that mailbox and, if set in the system, also to the selected mailbox (administrator).

More information about checking mailbox space and options to increase it can be found in the article Emails – Mailbox storage increase.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a domain catch-all and email forwarding on a domain?

The domain catch-all accepts all emails sent to mailboxes that do not exist on the domain. The domain catch-all is one specific mailbox on that domain. Email forwarding on a domain forwards absolutely all emails sent to the domain to an existing mailbox elsewhere.
